A Community worth Celebrating

See How We Continue to Rise:

Built Environment

Creating a healthier community starts with creating spaces where people can live, move, connect, and thrive. Across the Klamath Basin, partners have worked together to strengthen the built environment by improving parks, trails, public gathering spaces, and access to safe recreation opportunities. Investments in community-centered spaces and recreation opportunities recognize that health is influenced not only by healthcare, but also by the environments people experience every day.

Food Systems

Improving community health also means ensuring families have access to nutritious, affordable food. The success of this work comes from collaboration between healthcare, agriculture, schools, nonprofits, and community volunteers who recognize that food is foundational to health. Seasonal produce distribution programs, community education initiatives, and coordinated support services have helped create a more connected and resilient food network throughout the Basin. Together, these efforts are improving health outcomes while reinforcing the importance of community-driven solutions to address hunger and nutrition needs.

Wellness Center

The Wellness Center program was created to provide individuals and families with greater access to preventive health resources, education, and support services in a welcoming community setting. What makes the Wellness Center unique is its focus on whole-person wellness and community partnership. By working alongside local organizations, schools, and public health leaders, the program addresses both immediate health needs and long-term prevention strategies. The result is a trusted community resource that helps improve quality of life, reduce barriers to care, and strengthen the overall health of the Klamath Basin through accessible and meaningful engagement.

Tobacco Prevention

Tobacco prevention efforts throughout the Klamath Basin have focused on creating healthier environments for current and future generations. Through education, outreach, policy support, and youth engagement initiatives, community partners have worked to reduce tobacco use and increase awareness about the health risks associated with smoking and vaping. This work has been driven by strong collaboration between healthcare providers, schools, public health organizations, and community advocates who share a commitment to prevention. By focusing on education and early intervention, the Basin has built momentum toward reducing tobacco-related health impacts across the region. These collective efforts demonstrate how communities can work together to create lasting cultural and behavioral change that supports healthier lives for everyone.

Career Pathways

Career and Technical Education pipeline programs help build the future workforce of the Klamath Basin by connecting students with meaningful career exploration and hands-on learning opportunities. Through partnerships between healthcare, schools, colleges, and community organizations, students are introduced to careers in healthcare and other essential industries early in their educational journey. The strength of these programs lies in their ability to create opportunities close to home. By investing in local students and providing real-world experiences, the Basin is helping develop a workforce that is both skilled and deeply connected to the community it serves. These collaborative efforts not only support economic growth and career readiness but also strengthen the long-term sustainability of healthcare and essential services throughout the region.
