Join the Healthy Klamath team for an engaging community info session to learn about our newly developed Community Action Plan, created in partnership with Happy Cities.
This action plan is a roadmap for building a healthier, more connected, and vibrant Klamath County. Grounded in research and shaped by local voices, the plan focuses on how our public spaces, neighborhoods, and community design can support well-being for all. Happy Cities specializes in turning evidence into action—helping communities design places that foster health, happiness, and inclusion.
At this session, you will:
Learn about key priorities and strategies identified in the action plan
Explore how community spaces and placemaking can improve health and quality of life
Discover opportunities to get involved and help bring these ideas to life
Share your voice and discussions as we move toward implementation
This is an opportunity to connect with neighbors, partners, and local leaders while helping shape the future of our community. Whether you are a resident, business owner, or community advocate, your perspective is essential.
Together, we can turn ideas into action and make Klamath County a place where the healthy choice is the easy choice.
About the Plan:
Projects
are capital investments to improve public and shared spaces through tactile design interventions. Projects may be implemented as a pilot (such as an idea tested throughout the summer).
Policies
are strategic efforts to create a plan, policy, or statement to guide decisions and investments for the built environment. These policies may be led by government agencies or as collaborations between partners, with nuanced considerations for implementation.
The Klamath Healthy Places Plan is an action plan that aims to improve the built environment, especially the use and design of public spaces. The action plan was developed by Happy Cities and Healthy Klamath, and guided by community feedback from the 2025 Healthy & Thriving Places Summit. This plan presents recommended actions for Healthy Klamath’s network, which include design interventions, strategic efforts, programming recommendations, and future studies. These actions aim to build momentum, support, and capacity to improve the Klamath community’s built environment over the next ten years and beyond
Programs
are initiatives that activate public and shared spaces. These include community activities and special events like festivals and markets. Programming may be formal (such as an organized class) or informal (such as picnics at the park).
Studies
are research tasks to be completed, either at specific points in time or on an ongoing basis. Studies aim to better inform projects, policies, and programs while motivating investment into the built environment.
